If you’re looking for a new pair of headphones with the ultimate active noise cancellation but can’t justify the price of Sony’s award-winning WH-1000MX5, JBL has just announced not one but two alternatives. JBL LIVE 770NC and JBL LIVE 670NC will be available from the end of September and promise high features without an equally high price.
The specs certainly look impressive and could rival some of the best on-ear headphones and best over-ear headphones we’ve tested to date. Both sets of headphones feature 40mm dynamic drivers with Bluetooth 5.3 and LE Audio support, and you can customize their sound using HARMAN Personi-Fi 2.0.
They also boast a huge battery life. Playtime is a whopping 65 hours with ANC off, and you can get another four hours of gameplay in just five minutes thanks to the headphones’ fast-charging support.
What is the difference between the two JBL headphones: LIVE 770NC vs LIVE 670NC?
While both sets of headphones have the same technical specifications, they differ in shape. LIVE 770NC are over-ear headphones, while LIVE 670NC are on-ear headphones.
Both sets of headphones offer what JBL calls True Adaptive ANC technology. It’s something we’ve seen in many of the best noise canceling headphones lately, and it automatically adjusts the level of noise canceling based on your environment, so if you need further muting it will do so without your intervention. . The headphones also include two beamforming microphones for calls.
While we haven’t reviewed these headphones yet since they’ve just been announced, we recently reviewed JBL headphones and were impressed with the JBL Tune 750BTNC. As we said in our review: “Even though they’re a few years old, we highly recommend them if you’re looking for an all-around pair of over-ear headphones.” So it will be interesting to see how these new, more advanced headphones compare.
