Americans are persevering with to be taught more about synthetic intelligence, but they continue to be skeptical of the impression the expertise may have on society, in keeping with a brand new survey from Monmouth College.
The survey finds 91% of Americans say they’ve heard concerning the expertise, 21-point improve since April 2015. And 35% say they’ve learn or heard “loads” about synthetic intelligence, a 23-point improve since 2015.
But simply 9% of these surveyed say synthetic intelligence will do “more good than hurt” for society, whereas 41% say it could do more hurt than good and 46% say it should do an equal quantity of hurt and good.
The survey comes as Congress weighs how one can regulate the rising expertise.
