Troubleshooting: (1) File transfers are too slow – * Check if the other USB devices are connected to the same port or hub * Is the drive connected to a USB 2.0 port on your computer or hub * Is your computer’s internal hard drive limiting the transmission speed? (2) Receiving error messages when transferring files – * When copying files or folders from a computer to a FAT 32 volume, certain characters cannot be copied. These characters include, but are not limited to:? / \ : * The drive is mounted on the desktop again. LaCie drives conserve energy by shutting down when you put your computer to sleep, and when the computer wakes up from sleep it may not give the drive enough time to spin up from sleep (3) The drive icon does this don’t appear on my desktop – * make sure both ends of the USB cable are securely connected * make sure the drive is getting enough power. More troubleshooting solutions are available in the user manual pp. 19-22.
