Pangea wanted an open design that could support the weight of over 100 vinyl records, which can weigh up to 80 pounds. For solid turntable support, Pangea Audio incorporated a heavy-duty top platform. At 19mm this shelf is 25% thicker and supports 25% more weight than standard Vulcan shelves. Measuring 23.75 inches wide and 18 inches deep, the top platform offers plenty of room for all but the largest and most expensive turntables on the market. For customers with hard floors, the Vulcan TT comes with a set of four Mini Sonic Saucers to protect the wood or tile surfaces. The Vulcan TT Stand is a bolted steel design that measures 27.5 inches high, 23.75 inches wide and 18 inches deep. The high-quality .625 inch thick MDF shelves feature a scratch-resistant and stain-resistant vinyl coating. Usable spacing between shelves is 19.4″ and usable height above center shelf is 7.25″. The top platform is rated up to 80 lbs, the middle shelf up to 72 lbs and the lower shelf up to 80 lbs. The recommended total weight capacity of the stand is 270 lbs. A high quality steel speaker stand like the Pangea Audio LS300 not only positions the speaker drivers at the best acoustic height, but also holds the speaker rigid for optimal bass performance. The LS300 comes complete with adjustable ground spikes for piercing carpet.
