After the occasion of the Dying of Superman, 4 people appeared and tried to say (or so it appears) for the rights to bear the Man of Metal’s well-known “s” insignia. These people had been Superboy (Con-el), the Man of Metal (Henry Irons, later referred to as Metal), the cyborg Superman (Hank Henshaw) and that one with the shades that was later recognized as the Eradicator.
I’m not going a lot into element about the complete Reign of Supermen or The Return of the Superman occasion. What I’m after right here is the impact of this incident to the life of Hal Jordan and the way it had ultimately affected the total Inexperienced Lantern Corps, and it did bigtime!

Seems, cyborg Superman was behind all of it, and his confederate, Mongul. The two shared a standard hatred for Superman. Their plan, make Earth to be (Mongul’s) new Warworld, they usually have chosen Coast City as their main base of operations. And so they have succeeded of their preliminary plans. Coast City was gone. All of it.
The actual Superman lastly appeared and along with Metal, Superboy, and Supergirl, forge an assault to the now dwellers of what was once Coast City, now referred to as Engine City. Additionally, Inexperienced Lantern (Hal Jordan), Coast City’s hometown hero arrived from outerspace (Oa most likely). However he’s a hero with no metropolis to name his personal. He arrived on a wierd place the place a large engine is on its place. He pressured his means in trying to find the offender of this insanity. He got here in, blasting something and every little thing on its path till lastly Mongul. The two fought brutally with one another (nice struggle sequence by the means, if that struggle scene would have been tailored into animation, it could have been superior). After quite a few exchanges of assaults, Inexperienced Lantern emerged victorious with Mongul mendacity unconscious.
Inexperienced Lantern met up with Superboy, Metal, and Supergirl and in the finish, the actual Superman. Cyborg superman was changed into items. All appeared over, that is how this story ended for now. However the consequence of what had transpired can’t be modified. Coast City was gone, lowered to a barren land with a monstrous assemble for its landmark.
